My husband went on a missions trip to Haiti last month. Sorry it has taken me so long to post these here. It takes a while to sort through all of the photos and size them for my website.
I have been told that Haiti is the poorest country in the world. The people try to sell their things in the streets so that they can make enough money for their families.
They have burned their land to make charcoal to sell. I don’t think they realize how this has affected their quality of life.
There is trash everywhere because they have no trash collection service like we do.
Haiti even has a Budget rental store. It’s nothing like we’d see here though.
See the canals? Some people drink this stuff. As you can see, there is trash in the water too. Clean drinking water is a big problem in Haiti. One of the reasons my husband and the others went to Haiti was to find a place to drill a well. Some of the children have to walk miles each day to get clean water for their families. The people also have metal fences around their homes to keep people out.
As you can imagine, the Haitian people have a hard life. If you would like to help, please consider supporting a child through Compassion International or World Vision.

Someone sent these pictures to me in an email. I’m told that these beautiful flowers grow in Thailand.

I posted some pictures from Bald Head Island at Thrifty Mommy. It took a while to post them. For some reason we’re running slow this morning. The pics are beautiful. Stop by if you can.
