We don’t hang over a car to our kids with unlimited gas and mileage.  Why are we doing the same with cell phones?  It makes no sense to me.  Some of these sexting codes may shock you.  If you’re a parent, it is your responsibility to be informed and to hold your children accountable.

Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Unroll one can of refrigerated crescent rolls and spread along the bottom. Mix 2 packages of cream cheese with 3/4 c sugar or powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract,, and 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice (if desired). Spread over rolls and top with a can of pie filling (any flavor). Top with another layer of crescent rolls. Bake for 20 minutes at 350. If desired, drizzle a powdered sugar/milk glaze over the top when finished.

post Blogging Tip: Be a Good Neighbor

November 1st, 2009

When blogging, it is important to link to other bloggers in your niche and genre.  Also, link to other bloggers who are likely to visit you and link back.  Linking to big name blogs probably won’t do much for you since they won’t have the time to hang out at your site and link to you. When someone links to you, it is polite to leave a “thank you” comment at the post.

Commenting is another way to be friendly and get your name out there.  When commenting, you need to leave more than “yeah, I agree” or “that’s cool”. Leave a useful comment that will stand out and give the person reason to visit your site.  Most blogs have a place for you to leave your link with your name.  It is not necessary to leave an additional link in your comment.  Many bloggers will see this as spammy and will delete your comment or their spam filter will filter it.

The point of linking and commenting is to build friends and readership in your niche.  When I first started blogging, I was told the general rule was to comment at ten blogs each week.  This was a great way to meet to new people and share ideas.  Honestly, I have gotten out of that habit and need to start back again.  I could always use some new blogging friends.  How about you?
